Day 3

This is what our pool area was like about a year ago but then a big bad storm came through and ripped the roof into little tiny bits. :(

We have decided to make a deck around the wasted backside of the pool. We also decided that it should be another 3m or 9foot bigger making it about 5meters by 9 meters a good size for some lounge chairs and stuff.
The first part that I have to do is to make the landing over all the pump and heating gear with steps up onto the deck and steps into the pool.
I have never built a deck before so this should be fun.

This is just cause she looked so cute doing some pre-school work to help her stay one step ahead.
Cheyenne starts year one in about a month.

  1. IT sure is going to be fun to watch the progress of this project. You sure are brave to take on this yourself, seems like so much work. I like the bit of blue that is so crisp and stark beside the very busy inner part... it is like the calm after the storm, in your case.. nothing could be more true.

  2. I remember when you showed us pictures of your outdoor area before. It must have been heartbreaking to see it all get ripped up. My husband just finished our deck by our spa last year, and it is very self-satisfying for him, although he kept complaining that we should have had someone do it. It would have been much quicker, but this way, we got EXACTLY what we wanted! It evolved as he built it. Looks like you are going to be busy!
I hope Cheyenne enjoys year one. My son just finished it and starts year 2 this year. Exciting times! Now he's reading Chapter Books. I can't remember being so far ahead with reading when I was only that young, but it was years ago. Either I can't remember, or they are getting smarter, younger...

  4. I'm trying to remember what the purpose of the roof was, musquitos or ozonlayer?
Building a deck will be a challenge in itself I guess. Did you draw a plan or do you design as you go along.

  5. This is going to be an intesresting month - from where I'm sitting anyway. Hopefully, having lots of people watching your progress will add extra motivation.

  6. Yeah I'm sure there will be a bit of extra motavation. The roof was to keep out the bugs. Our twin boys start prep this year so it's going to be quiet at home with just the two younger girls.

She looks so happy in her work.

  9. Fabulous candid shot of Cheyenne! Good luck with the deck. It looks like one major endeavor, especially with your injured hand. I hope your hand heals quickly!
